Fashion’s favourite cool girl, Emili Sindlev has lent her impeccable style to a new collection for Nasty Gal.

If you’re not yet familiar with Sindlev, she’s long been a fixture on the Copenhagen fashion scene - there’s rarely a season in which she’s not papped as part of the Scandivanian fashion week.

A stylist first and foremost, she’s beloved for her ability to search out wildly cool pieces, expert combination of minimalism and colour-blocking, while proving once and for all that the brighter and the bolder, the better.

For a dramatic U-turn from the loungewear you’ve been wearing for the best part of the year, Sindlev’s collection with Nasty Gal is ideal for those starved of post-lockdown outfit inspiration. Consider this the wardrobe revamp you’ve been desperate for.

We caught up with the Danish beauty to discuss her Carrie Bradshaw inspiration, the jewellery pieces she never goes out without, and her wardrobe staples.

What does 2021 look like at present for you?

Still working from home, but I hope to travel soon… I can’t wait to see the world re-open and see the smiles all over the world again. And hopefully hugging!

What was your inspiration behind your collection with Nasty Gal?

I wanted to pay homage to Patricia Field’s work with Sarah Jessica Parker on Sex and the City during the ‘90s.

What will you be wearing as soon as restrictions lift?

I’m definitely going to wear the little red dress, zebra boots and the cowboy hat for sure from my collection with Nasty Gal.

How would you describe your style?

Fun, playful, colourful, feminine, and masculine - I really enjoy the fact that I have no rules when it comes to fashion.

What are your wardrobe staples?

During the last year it has become more casual like baggy pants, a big shirt or tights and a men’s blazer.. but normally heels would be my everyday weapon.

What is your beauty routine?

I don’t do make up every day, I think it’s important to give my skin a break. I really enjoy all kinds of creams and oils, for my face, hair and body.

What’s the item you couldn’t live without?

I like to live by the fact that there shouldn’t be anything you can’t live without.

How do you treat yourself?

With cake, almost every day.

How do you incorporate time for yourself into your schedule?

I run every morning. It’s just a small run, but I need it. It depends on what I need at the time - sometimes I just need more sleep. I really think it’s just important to listen to your body.

What pieces make up your staple jewellery collection?

I like basic gold hoops, they always work. I really enjoy costume jewellery a lot. I have a necklace I got from my boyfriend with the letters M and E for Mads and Emili and ME - so it has double the importance.
