Submerged Land Rover stranded as floods hit Devon

Cars have been left stranded in flood water across Devon as Storm Bert brings torrential rain to the West Country. Sean Mcilroy sent DevonLive pictures of a submerged Land Rover he discovered when he was out for a bicycle ride this morning in Exeter.

The vehicle was stuck in flood water at Clark’s Pond, Balls Farm Road, close to Oaklands Riding School, near the A377 and Alphington. Mr Mcilroy said: “I am 44 years old and I’ve never seen Clark’s Pond so high.

“I was more surprised to see the roof of a ‘something’ in the water and I went closer with my bike and I saw a Range Rover. Of course I went through the water to check for victims or anything like that. Luckily the Range Rover had no passengers.”
