Succession fans have been offered a glimpse at the much-anticipated season four, set to debut in March.

Puppetmaster Logan can be seen running rings around his family in the trailer, even after the explosive season three ending where his adult children put aside their differences to try to stage a coup - which ended in disaster.

Daughter Shiv's (Sarah Snook) husband Tom (Matthew Macfadyen) turned against her and tipped off his father-in-law to try to protect his own interests, leaving Shiv and her brothers Roman (Kieran Culkin), Kendall (Jeremy Strong) and Connor (Alan Ruck) floundering as they were cut off by Logan.

At the beginning of the trailer, Shiv, Roman and Kendall are considering trying to get their father on the phone as Roman says: "Would we consider at least a call?"

Shiv asks: "Well is he apologising?" and Kendall adds: "I mean, did he ask?"

Roman says: "Well if he were to call, then I guess we would see."

Tom is also shown trying to get some assurances from Logan as he says: "What would happen...," as Logan interrupts: "If you and Shiv were to bust up?"

A nervous Tom asks: "We’ll always be good, right?"

Logan replies: "If we’re good, we’re good," as Tom, looking worried, says: "That's...heartening."

"Like Israel-Palestine, Greg. But harder. And much more important."
