Succession season 3's latest trailer introduces Adrien Brody's Josh Aaronson and Alexander Skarsgård's Lukas Matsson.

Set to premiere next month, HBO's returning golden goose will catch up with the Roy family after Kendall (Jeremy Strong) brought the heat down on his tyrannical father Logan (Brian Cox) in the season 2 finale.

As fans have come to expect, the new teaser footage is brimming with dark humour, sweeping New York City vistas and media frenzies.

"There's blood in the water, sharks are coming," says Logan, as his company Waystar RoyCo enters an uncertain future.

"When will your father die?" tech founder Matsson casually asks Roman Roy (Kieran Culkin), "...with due respect, obviously."

Meanwhile, billionaire activist investor Aaronson enters this familial pit of betrayal and greed with some words we're all thinking: "I thought my family was f**ked up, this is a next level."

But it's not all about the newcomers, as Shiv Roy (Sarah Snook), Cousin Greg (Nicholas Braun), Tom Wambsgans (Matthew Macfayden), Gerri Kellman (J Smith-Cameron) and Connor Roy (Alan Ruck) make their presences felt too.

Back in June, executive producer Georgia Pritchett revealed that Succession will run for five seasons at the very most.

"I think the maximum would be five seasons, but possibly more like four. We're at the end of filming season three, so at this point [showrunner Jesse Armstrong] is saying only one more. But that happens every time.

"We've got a good end in sight," she teased.

Succession season 3 premieres on HBO in the US on October 17, while UK fans can catch episodes over on Sky Atlantic and NOW.
