Succession's Peter Friedman managed to keep Logan Roy's jaw-dropping season 4 fate a secret from his wife.

Ahead of the comedy-drama's series finale, which is streaming on NOW in the UK as of Monday, Frank Vernon actor Friedman spoke to The Guardian about spoiler protection.

"When you think of all those extras at Logan's funeral or Connor [Roy's] wedding, it's amazing nothing leaked," he began.

"Some fans online zoomed in on the order-of-service from the funeral – I think Sarah [Snook] had it in her hand – and it said 'Ewan Roy'. They did indeed print up a bunch of decoys to put people off.

"I even kept his death secret from my wife until I inadvertently mentioned something funny that happened in Norway. She said: 'Wait, is Logan dead?'"

Portrayed by Scottish veteran Brian Cox with spectacular venom - earning him Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild awards in the process - Logan passed away in the third episode of season 4 after falling ill on a flight to Sweden, leaving his children Roman, Kendall, Shiv and Connor to duke it out for the top job at Waystar RoyCo.

Such has been the profound cultural impact of Cox's character, Succession fans regularly request Cox to shout profanities at them out on the street.

He previously told This Morning's Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield: "Human beings are really weird, they really are weird - 'Can you please tell me to…', you know. That's why it's the easiest thing to say because you are quite happy to tell them to you know what!"

Of course, the actor was referring to Logan's catchphrase "F**k off!"
