Yahoo News Succession star Sarah Snook lands lead role in new Jane Austen movie Persuasion
Succession favourite Sarah Snook has nabbed the lead role in big screen Jane Austen adaptation Persuasion.
The casting news arrives via The Hollywood Reporter, who confirmed that Snook will play Anne Elliot – a woman who "many years after refusing the proposal of young naval officer Frederick Wentworth, finds herself navigating the waters of English society when Wentworth returns from war a wealthy and decorated captain".
Deliberating over this missed opportunity, Anne faces regret and possibly even unrequited love.

Following her breakout turn as Shiv Roy in HBO's aforementioned drama-comedy, Snook is building herself an impressive cinematic portfolio.
Just this month, her latest project Pieces of a Woman (co-starring Vanessa Kirby, Shia LaBeouf and Ellen Burstyn) received critical acclaim at the Venice Film Festival – Netflix will stream it internationally.
Meanwhile, Succession's third season has been directly affected by the coronavirus pandemic, leaving its production and release date in limbo for the time being.

Matthew Macfadyen, who plays Shiv's partner Tom Wambsgans, shared an update on season three in July.
"They're hoping to start in the autumn, but I know that a lot of shows are sort of sliding to January. I think it changes week to week – or day to day, really. Restrictions are put in place and then removed, so there are things that you can do and then you can't do," he told The Hollywood Reporter.
"The producers have to make really difficult decisions about whether to start or not, and whether they'll be screwed up halfway down the shoot if something else happens," he added.
"And then wouldn't be able to do the show the way that you want it to be done, so it's tricky. But fingers crossed. I really miss it."
Succession airs on HBO in the US and is available on Sky and NOW TV in the UK.
