Full Birds of Prey title is a bit of a mouthful

Update: Margot Robbie has also done her bit to hype up the upcoming Birds of Prey film and shared a picture of the movie's script and title on her Instagram page.

The actress has even given us a bit of a clue about the film's plot, too, as underneath the film's title, she's written: "And the fantabulous emancipation of one Harley Quinn," along with a kiss.

And if you thought it was just Robbie messing around, Warner Bros has confirmed that, yes, that is the official full title.

Original: The upcoming Harley Quinn girl gang movie Birds of Prey seems to finally have landed a filming date – and it's not far off.

Star Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who will play Huntress in the Suicide Squad spin-off, dished a bit on the DC movie, and revealed that (as rumoured) it will start production at the beginning of 2019.

"It's sort of a spin-off of Suicide Squad," the actress explained to Bionic Buzz. "It kind of follows Harley Quinn, which is Margot Robbie's character from those films, and this sort of girl gang that she puts together.

"I play Huntress, and we've got Black Canary, played by Jurnee Smollett-Bell, and Rosie Perez and Ewan McGregor. It's a really fun, fun cast."

She added: "We haven't started shooting yet, but we start shooting in January, and I can't wait."

McGregor was the latest star to be announced for the upcoming movie earlier this month, the actor taking on the role of villain Black Mask.

The Gotham City mob boss (AKA Roman Sionis) leads the False Face Society gang, and infamously kills his parents in order to inherit their massive wealth and take over their corporation.

Robbie previously described Birds of Prey as an "R-rated girl gang film including Harley", adding: "I was like, 'Harley needs friends'. Harley loves interacting with people, so don't ever make her do a standalone film.

"She's got to be with other people, it should be a girl gang. I wasn't seeing enough girl gangs on screen, especially in the action space."
