Cape Town - kykNet's popular Afrikaans soapie, Suidooster, will add a fifth episode every week from 2018.
This means the daily drama will now broadcast from Monday to Friday.
The first extra episode will be aired on Friday, 6 April and will air at the same time as the current episodes at 18:30 on kykNET (DStv 144) and kykNET & kie (DStv 145).
"kykNet viewers are big fans of the show and have been asking from the first episode if the soapie could be extended to five days a week,” says Karen Meiring, director of kykNet channels at M-Net.
“It is a great pleasure for kykNet to annouce the news before Christmas that the Samsodiens, Octobers, Du Plooys, Gerbers, the Daniels brothers and the rest of the Ruiterbosch community will visit South African sitting rooms every week night."
The Suidooster cast is very excited that kykNet has extended the soapie to five days a week.
"Even though we have to learn more words we do it with a smile becuase the Suidooster fans deserve a Friday epsiode. The support of the soapie has been amazing," says Denise Newman who plays Bridget October.
Jill Levenberg who plays Mymoena Samsodien agrees: "This is the best Christmas gift for Suidooster fans."
The first episode of Suidooster aired on 16 November 2015 and began with three episodes a week. In July 2016 a fourth episode was added.
