Meghan Markle may be leaving Suits behind to become a Duchess (most likely) when she marries Prince Harry in May, but the show must go on and the hit series is making a few adjustments to do just that.

Like this latest big change, which will see Amanda Schull become a series regular in the show's eighth season, as Entertainment Weekly reports.

Schull plays Katrina Bennett, who first appeared in season two as an associate and then later returned as a junior partner. She was last seen in season seven's sixth episode 'Home to Roost' when she tried to help Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman) with a sexual harassment lawsuit.

There's still a bit of time before fans see Schull's promotion take effect on the screen though, as the series is just about to launch the back eight episodes of its seventh season following its hiatus.

It marks the final time we'll see Meghan Markle act in the series, as both her character Rachel Zane and her co-star Patrick J Adams' Mike Ross are being written out of the show ahead of season eight.

"I don't see [my engagement] as giving anything up, I just see it as a change," Meghan told BBC News last year. "It's a new chapter.

"I feel really proud of the work that I've done there, and now it's time to work as a team [with Harry]."

Luckily, to help fill the gap of two major stars leaving the series, Suits has also signed up Emmy-winning Grey's Anatomy legend Katherine Heigl as Pearson Specter Litt's newest partner Samantha Wheeler.

So it looks like we'll hardly notice that Rachel and Mike aren't around anymore, eh?

Suits returns for the back-half of its seventh season on March 28 on the USA Network and March 29 on Netflix in the UK. The eighth season will follow in 2019.
