Sulli death: K-pop star and former f(x) singer found dead at home, aged 25

South Korean singer Sulli, who was part of the K-pop group f(x), has died at the age of 25.

The star, born Choi Jin-ri, was found dead by her agent at a two-story house in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province.

A cause of death has yet to be determined.

A former child actor, Sulli rose to prominence as part of f(x), singing with the group on hits including “Pinocchio (Danger)” and “Rum Pum Pum Pum”, before leaving the band in 2015 to pursue acting opportunities.

In a 2018 interview with Gulf News, Sulli said that her mental health was also a factor in her decision to quit the group.

“I was under so much pressure,” she said. “I often felt scared. We felt so much pressure. I did what someone told me to do without knowing the reason.

She continued, “At some point, I started to realise and started to wonder why I should do this and for what I’m doing this… I said I’m exhausted, but no one listened to me. I felt like I was alone”.

As an actor, Sulli appeared in the South Korean TV series To the Beautiful You, in which she played a high school student who disguises herself as a boy, and the neo-noir film Real.

Last year she appeared in her own reality series, Jinri Store, which followed her work in the fashion industry, and released her debut solo album Goblin in June 2019.
