Remember a few weeks back when Sunday Brunch hosts Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer tried their hand at ballet dancing? Well, it turns out that was just a warm-up, because today's programme saw the hosts take on Elizabethan dancing.

International choreographer and historical dance expert Darren Royston was chosen to put Tim and Simon through their paces, teaching them the popular dance moves of the early 17th century.

As Darren explained while teaching the hosts a dance called 'the galliard', the best way to channel your inner Elizabethan is to mimic the movements of animals, leading to dance moves best described as the 'horse', the 'donkey' and the 'cow'.

"If you want to get on in Elizabethan culture, this is what you've got to do," Darren told the hosts.

And it's safe to say that many viewers found it absolutely hysterical:

While others weren't quite sure what they were watching:

Darren himself won a few fans too:

And all in all, it was top Sunday morning telly, really:

"Is this real?" Tim asks at one point, while Simon points out: "Our researchers are laughing an awful lot over there, Tim."

Tim also joked: "When All Saints are sitting there laughing at us, this is not a good day!"

Still, with all of these dance segments on Sunday Brunch recently, we wouldn't be too surprised if we saw Tim following in Simon's footsteps and preparing for a stint on this year's Strictly Come DancingCome Dancing...

Sunday Brunch continues on Channel 4 next Sunday (August 5).
