Sunday Brunch's Tim Lovejoy leaves Channel 4 viewers in stitches with on-air blunder

Sunday Brunch host Tim Lovejoy had viewers in stitches after a hilarious gaffe on the Channel 4 programme.

In the latest episode aired on Sunday morning (September 15), Tim and his co-host Simon Rimmer were joined by Lucy Beaumont, Pixie Lott, Blossoms, Gary Lightbody, Ellie Leach and Sophia Warner. However, the show took a comedic turn when Tim made an error.

Misnaming the famous ship HMS Belfast as HMV Belfast, Tim was quickly corrected by his co-host Simon.

Addressing guest Gary, Tim said: "So Gary, by the way you were at HMV Belfast yesterday. How was that, was that good? " He added: "We've got a picture of it there, here you go."

Simon was quick to point out that the correct name was HMS. Laughing at Tim's minor blunder, Gary assured the hosts he still enjoyed himself regardless, reports the Express.

Viewers also noticed the slip-up, with one taking to X formerly known as Twitter to say: "That HMV/HMS joke was literally the funniest thing I have ever ever heard we are so f*****g back. I want to cheer."

Sunday Brunch returned to screens over the weekend following a brief break due to the 2024 Paralympic games. Earlier this month, fans were disappointed to discover their favourite Sunday show had been cancelled.

Irritated fans quickly voiced their frustration in the comments section when an unexpected programme change was announced on their Facebook page.

A disgruntled fan took to social media commenting: "Oh no... that's thrown my routine of the window ... cats are going to miss Petflix," while another lamented: "Missing Sunday Brunch this morning, look forward to next week."

Others shared "What am I going to do Sunday," and "Nooooo! ! What am I going to do tomorrow morning now," replete with saddened emojis.

Sunday Brunch airs Sundays from 9:30am on Channel 4.
