The Brumbies have confirmed their coaching team for the 2023 Super Rugby Pacific season that sees Stephen Larkham take over as head coach.

Joining Larkham are Laurie Fisher, Rob Seib and Dan Palmer, who make up the remainder of the back-room group as the Brumbies look to build on a positive season in 2022.

Fisher, who coached Larkham in his playing days, has been at the Brumbies for six years in his third tenure at the club and is vastly experienced as a technical coach.

Seib enters his third season working with the Canberra-based outfit as the attack coach and added to his resume when he fulfilled an assistant role for Australia ‘A’ in the Pacific Nations Cup this year.

Palmer takes up a full-time role for the first time after being involved with the Brumbies before coaching the scrum.

Brumbies chief executive officer Phil Thompson is happy with continuity and looks forward to the next season with Larkham leading the team.

“We’re pleased to be able to have such strong continuity within our coaching group as Steve takes over as head coach,” he said.

“Laurie is obviously a world-class coach and he continues to be incredibly passionate about the Brumbies, and in Rod we have a detailed, intelligent coach who has made a great impression on the club so far.

“It’s fantastic also to have Dan come on full-time, and we’re excited to see him have a larger role within the group having watched his growth as a scrum coach.

“It’s rare to be able to assemble a coaching group with such continuity and shared experience and we’re confident they will put in place a program, along with our wider High-performance staff that will allow our squad to continue to develop and build on recent seasons as we look forward to 2023.”
