A supercalifragilistic night of delight! Disney On Ice presents Road Trip Adventures roars into Newcastle
The latest ice-travaganza from Disney On Ice is a whirlwind road trip through some of Disney’s most beloved stories.
For a huge Disney fan like me, I always enjoy seeing what each year’s Disney show is going to bring, and I can honestly say that this year’s production is one of the most spectacular I have seen. Even before the show commenced, the entire Utilita arena was buzzing with excitement, and brimming with kids dressed as their favourite Disney stars.
The whole audience erupted into cheers as Mary Poppins really got the party started as she flew down from the rafters by her umbrella! Now that is some entrance! As well as soaring over the rooftops of London, we travelled the African savanna with Simba, laughed along with Woody and Buzz in a thrilling Toy Story sequence and we were swept away by the tropical magic of Moana.

Elsa’s iconic performance of ‘Let It Go’ was a standout moment for me, her powerful skating, stunning costume and breathtaking special effects had the entire arena singing along. Each segment of the show was brought to life with dazzling skating, incredible stunts, and jaw-dropping visuals that has the entire audience enthralled.
The Utilita Arena was overflowing with tiny Elsas, Annas, Buzz Lightyears and Mary Poppins twirling and dancing. The energy was contagious, and it was impossible not to be swept away with excitement.
What truly set the night apart was how interactive it was. From clapping and cheering to singing along, the whole audience became part of the adventure. The pacing was just right, too, with a short interval to refuel with snacks, keeping even the youngest fans engaged right to the grand finale.
As we left the arena, surrounded by kids still twirling in their costumes and parents humming familiar tunes, I couldn’t help thinking how much longer my 11 year old son will appreciate the magic of Disney, but I needn’t have worried, his view was that this was the best Disney On Ice show he has ever seen!
As long as he’s playing super cousin to my 3 year old niece Ava, aka Elsa, I think we’ve got a few more years left for him to enjoy the Disney Love!
Disney on Ice: Road Trip Adventures is an unforgettable experience for kids and grown-ups alike. With its dazzling performances, stunning visuals, and a whole lot of heart, it’s the perfect family night out.
Don’t miss it while it’s here in the North East - you’ll leave with memories to cherish forever. Showing until 24th November at Utilita Arena.
