Leicester City will retain their hard-won Premier League status, according to a recent super-computer calculation.

Having turned in a promising second half display in their opening game against Tottenham, Steve Cooper’s men were lacklustre in their 2-1 defeat at Fulham in their first away game.

Their Profitability & Sustainability Rules issues rumble on and there is frustration at the business done so far in the transfer market. But the number-crunchers believe there is cause for optimism.

While Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea have been tipped to finish in the top-four and secure Champions League place following their thumping 6-2 win at Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday, analysts at Best Plinko Casino have run a Premier League super-computer to determine who is likely to finish where.

Their calculations are based on a probability model according to a team’s current strength (based on factors such as league position and form) and betting market odds. A simulation is then run 1,000 times to predict the outcome of every fixture, with a league table then constructed as a result with as few anomalies as possible to ensure accuracy.

In terms of the title race, Manchester City are expected to win their fifth Premier League in a row and finish five points ahead of Arsenal despite the Gunners' 2-0 win at Aston Villa on Saturday.

Enticingly the Foxes have been tipped to survive in 16th position, ahead of Wolves just above the drop zone. While they beat Southampton on Saturday, Nottingham Forest have been tipped to succumb to the drop, with the Saints and Ipswich also relegated.
