Great Western Hospital's charity is encouraging people to celebrate NHS heroes by dressing up for this year's Superhero Run.

Brighter Futures is holding its sixth Superhero Run around Coate Water on Sunday July 10 - and there's still time to book a spot.

More than 200 people took part in the fun last year.

Adults and children will dress up as their favourite superhero and put on their trainers to run, walk or jog 3k or 5k.

The aim of the game is to raise funds for Brighter Futures which supports services at GWH and in community health sites across Swindon.

A spokesman for the charity said: "Help us celebrate all the superheroes of the pandemic – not just the amazing doctors and nurses at the Great Western Hospital but all the fabulous key workers that kept the country going during the past year.

"Help us to raise funds to support an extraordinary provision of care to patients and help deliver joined up services for local people at home, in the community and in hospital helping them to lead independent and healthier lives."

Participants will be awarded a Superhero Medal and prizes for the best costume.

Entry is £14 for adults and £9 for children. To sign up, visit register.enthuse.com
