Superior Energy: 3Q Earnings Snapshot

HOUSTON (AP) _ Superior Energy Services Inc. (SPN) on Monday reported a loss of $21.8 million in its third quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Houston-based company said it had a loss of 14 cents.

The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 12 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 12 cents per share.

The oilfield services company posted revenue of $573.1 million in the period, which topped Street forecasts. Eight analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $571.3 million.

Superior Energy shares have fallen roughly 10 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $8.71, a drop of almost 2 percent in the last 12 months.
