Superman fans spot 'something never seen before' in trailer for 'first time in history'
Since the new Superman trailer was released, fans have spotted something they'd never seen before in previous live-action adventures of the caped hero for the "first time in history".
The teaser has passed 22.5M views in the first 24 hours on DC’s YouTube channel as film fans and comic buffs alike pick it apart frame by frame for every reference and clue at what is to come. Written and directed by James Gunn, the film marks a new age for a DC cinematic universe as the company tries to replicate the success of Marvel's billion dollar franchise.
No surprise that Gunn is at the helm of DC Studios after his successful stint directing the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy for the Disney owned studio before switching allegiances. This new iteration of the man of steel was originally titled Superman Legacy but seems to have dropped the subtitle ahead of its release next summer.

A number of key characters made an appearance in the first trailer released earlier this week. This includes Rachel Brosnahan's Lois Lane and Lex Luthor, now played by Nicholas Hoult. There were also fellow DC comics superheroes such as one of the Green Lanterns, Guy Gardner (Nathan Fillon), Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced) and Mr Terrific (Edi Gathegi). Fans were even delighted to see that Superman's dog, Krypto looks to have a starring role.
However, viewers were distracted by something that they believe has never happened in a live-action adaptation of Superman before. The fact that the actor taking on the role looks significantly different when he is donning the cape to when he is Clark Kent. David Corenswet is taking on the part, following on from Henry Cavill's stint, while Tyler Hoechlin has been playing the character in television series Superman & Lois.
Corenswet seems to have an edge over previous actors according to fans. Responding to a post on social media that focused on the character's transformation between personas, one fan said: "Is that even the same guy?" Another posted: "The first time in history that superman looks better and more interesting as Clark." While one person added: "Now that's what you call the perfect disguise! holy kryptonite!"
Corenswet has previously appeared in films Pearl and Twisters as well as mini-series We Own This City and Netflix show The Politician. His performance as Clark Kent and Superman has already got many fans impressed as one dedicated fan claimed: "Ok, yeah I can admit that this Clark Kent would have me fooled because HOW IS THIS THE SAME GUY. Think this is something never had before in Superman films."
