As for what's next in the show, an official Episode 2 synopsis teases: "Walker continues to try to reconnect with his family but finds that his kids have developed new routines with Liam (played Keegan Allen).

"Back at work, Captain James (Coby Bell) tells Walker he needs to get recertified to be a ranger, but old memories of Emily (guest star Genevieve Padalecki) hinder his progress."

Meanwhile, one of those 2.43 million fans included Padalecki's former Supernatural colleague Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

Reacting to Walker's debut, the star (arguably most famous for his role as Negan in The Walking Dead) tweeted: "Just wanted to say congrats to my boy @jarpad. I'm damn proud of him for bringing #Walker back to life as the man, and the exec producer. Well done.

"And @GenPadalecki to boot?! Pretty damn cool. Love you."

Walker airs on The CW in the US. It has yet to confirm a UK air date.
