Supernatural fans are being truly spoilt this weekend, as the show has released an all-new trailer for its upcoming final season.

Following on from a first look earlier in the week, The CW has now shared a new trailer for its final chapter as Sam (Jared Padalecki), Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Castiel (Misha Collins) have to deal with the literal hell on Earth that was unleashed at the end of season 14.

In the clip, Sam and Dean are haunted by some of the creatures that they have previously killed as the brothers realise that the Gates of Hell have been opened.

"Welcome to the end," as Dean says.

The Winchesters will have to once again face some of the most feared nemeses from the past, but at least it looks like they're ready to take on the challenge.

"You and me versus every soul in hell? I like those odds," Dean says, before the pair are seen standing over the boot of a car in a callback to the show's very first episode as Sam announces: "We've got work to do."

Alongside the new trailer, the show has also released a final season poster, which ominously tells us: "As it is written, so it shall end."

As well as fighting off the Hall of Fame of Supernatural baddies, the show's stars recently teased that their major conflict will be grappling over whether or not Chuck God is really evil.

"This is, as far as we know, the most powerful being in the universe, and he's against us," Collins explained.

Padalecki added: "But we're also struggling with: Is Chuck evil, or is he just trying to objectively write a story that's exciting which controls our lives?"

Meanwhile, Supernatural's co-showrunner Andrew Dabb also hinted that there will be some big deaths in the final season, saying: "[Sam and Dean] going to start to lose people who, in past seasons, we would've never lost – and lose them in a very real way."

Supernatural returns to The CW in the US on Thursday, October 10. E4 airs the show in the UK.
