The Supervet’s Noel Fitzpatrick has confirmed that series 19 has come to an end.

Ahead of Thursday night’s (July 11) instalment of the Channel 4 show, the renowned veterinary surgeon took to social media to announce that the emotional episode would be the last of the series.

"Final episode of Series 19 of #Supervet on tonight on @Channel4 at 8pm," he wrote on X. "Thank you to everyone for your kind words and support. Everyone involved in the making of the show hopes you enjoy."

Noel had his work cut out for him in the finale and faced the challenging task of performing surgery on a Caucasian shepherd dog name Odin, who was suffering from a severe condition where malformed vertebrae compressed his spinal cord.

The episode also featured Monty, a toy poodle who had to endure two surgeries - including a hip replacement - after being attacked by another dog.

Finally, Maya, a Malamute Husky cross, defied the odds after an encounter with a train and successfully received a prosthetic limb.

Viewers took to social media after the final episode to share their admiration for Noel and express their sadness over the end of series 19, with one individual writing: "Dear Noel.. I’ve watched the recent series, and I think you’re amazing.

"The procedures you and your colleagues carry out are breathtaking.. It’s wonderful to see the love and compassion you have for animals, and how you help them."

"So sad it’s the last episode. It’s been great to see you back on TV again, been looking forward to it every week. Going to miss seeing you Noel, hope we’ll see you again soon," wrote another.
