Surfers Brave Winter Cold to Catch Waves in Hampton, New Hampshire

Surfers braved the winter cold to ride “beautiful” waves off the coast of Manchester, New Hampshire, on January 5, during a National Weather Service marine advisory.

Footage taken by Twitter user @Joelalbair shows surfers in the waves off Hampton Beach. “Some beautiful wave action from Hampton Beach, New Hampshire,” wrote @Joelalbair.

The National Weather Service (NWS) had issued a small craft advisory for area waters on January 5, warning of “north winds 15 to 25 knots with gusts up to 30 knots” and swells reaching heights of six to eleven feet.
