A South Carolina fisherman got quite the surprise on May 20 when his line hooked an alligator while out fishing for flounder in a saltwater marsh in Murrells Inlet.
This footage by Captain Robert Birchmeier of Pawleys Island Beach to Creek Guide Service shows the moment he pulls the alligator from the murky depths.
“I think I got me a stingray,” Birchmeier says seconds before the gator surfaces. “Oh boy, that’s not a stingray.”
