Surrey A3/M25 slip road closed by heavy rain as seven flood alerts issued for county
The A3 Northbound exit for the M25 J10 at Wisley Interchange has been closed due to heavy rainfall.
This comes after Surrey has been repeatedly issued a weather warning by the Met Office for torrential rain and thunderstorms. Most recently a yellow warning was issued for Thursday (September 26) and Friday (September 27).
Across England some areas were predicted to get up to 20-30 mm of rain in 2-3 hours and perhaps 40-60 mm in 4-6 hours.

As well as the shut slip road the consistent heavy rain has also caused seven flood alerts to be issued across the county. Issued to let people know to prepare for flooding, The Environment Agency releases the alert when river flooding is possible.
Across Surrey alerts have been issued for:
Chertsey Bourne - Egham, Chertsey, Virginia Water, Weybridge
Colne Brook at Iver and Colnbrook - Staines-upon-Thames
Hoe Stream - Woking
Lower River Colne and Frays - Staines-upon-Thames
River Blackwater and The Cove Brook - Camberley, Frimley
River Thames from Dachet to Shepperton Green - Staines - upon - Thames, Virginia Water, Chertsey, Walton - on - Thames, Sunbury
River Thames from Shepperton to Molesey - Walton - on - Thames, West Molesey
Currently, the Met Office is predicting that the weekend will remain relatively clear. Rain is most likely in the evening of Sunday (September 29) continuing into Monday.
The long range forecast for the beginning of October shows changeable and unsettled weather is a temperature close to or slightly lower than average for this time of year.
