A Cranleigh coffee shop, that is accredited as the "best coffee shop in the village" by reviewers, has aimed to 'bring something different' to the high street since it opened six months ago.

It's fair to say that what this place offers is unique in so many ways. Not only is Altitude Coffee bar a wonderful coffee shop full of decorated hot and cold drinks; you can also buy alcohol there from 10am everyday, so if you fancy jazzing up your morning coffee, or you just need to take the edge off, Altitude may be your new favourite.

There is also a lovely dog-walking park just a five minute walk from the high street at Knowle Park Country Park. Opened in May last year, the 60-acre country park has free parking, and features a lake, picnic and play areas, an amphitheatre, and is, of course, dog-friendly. The park has been described as feeling like a holiday when visited in summer.

Knowle Park is also hosting a range of free and priced events in the build up to Christmas, such as a Santa's grotto, discovery quests around the park, candlelit carol signing and much more. Additional information on events at Knowle park can be found on the website here.

Being so close together, it only makes sense to combine a stroll through the wonderful Knowle Park with a visit to Altitude Coffee bar. Both places display the vibrant new direction Cranleigh is headed into as it continues to be labelled as Britain's 'largest village'.

The coffee bar is a family-owned business which set up shop in May of this year. The bar is themed around one of Surrey's greatest strengths - its nature and scenery. Dogs are also nature-lovers, so in line with this, the staff at Altitude are very dog friendly, going as far as to say "the more paws the merrier". This is a rarity for Cranleigh's High Street as there are not many other establishments nearby which allow pooches through their doors.

Altitude has a lovely modern interior design which has been made with the idea of creating an 'Instagram-worthy' backdrop for your photos. The coffee bar features a swing and even a hidden cave. The walls are full of vibrant flowers and plants and the ceiling glows with fairy lights.

Labelled by reviewers as the "best coffee shop in Cranleigh"; the coffee on offer consists of their own signature blend which is sourced from the top 1% graded coffee beans worldwide and is made from a Brazilian and Rwandan medium roast. Altitude also offers their own spin on the increasingly popular chai and matcha drinks. All drinks can be 'jazzed up' with a variety of alcohol, which is served from 10am, with cocktails available from 5pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

In terms of food, Altitude serves a range of seasonal specials which include soups, sandwiches, salads and various pastries. According to Lauren, the shop's owner, a customer favourite is their bacon, brie and red onion chutney giant toasted croissant.

Altitude also hosts various seasonal events around the year, such as most recently a Halloween dog photoshoot. On select Friday and Saturday evenings you will find events ranging from live music nights to wine and cheese tastings and line dances.
