Surveillance Footage Shows Destructive EF-3 Tornado Hitting Kansas Elementary School

Newly released footage shows a destructive EF-3 tornado tossing vehicles and blowing out windows as it hit an elementary school in the Wichita suburb of Andover, Kansas, on April 29.

Security footage from Prairie Creek Elementary School captured the power of a tornado that raced through Andover. The school said it was “fortunate” no students were in the building at the time.

Four people were injured and more than 1,000 buildings were damaged by the tornado, Andover officials told local media. Preliminary assessments indicated it was an EF-3 tornado. Credit: Andover Public Schools via Storyful
