Survival of the Fittest continued to baffle and infuriate viewers this evening (February 20), but in a surprising development, it had nothing to do with the series' rules. Or lack of.

Following Lottie James' exit from The Lodge yesterday, it was only a matter of time until the Girls and Boys met her official replacement.

And the latest contestant to join the show was Sydney Devereaux, a 24-year-old croupier from Essex who has so far been sceptical of the Girls' tactics and declared herself a lover of "scumbags".

That's quite an entrance.

Despite appearing to make a bee-line for the Boys, it wasn't Sydney who got viewers complaining – it was the Boys. (And deservedly so, let's be honest.)

Not long after slating Lottie for getting flirty with the opposite sex – and therefore team – a few of the Boys wasted no time in expressing their interest in new girl Sydney.

Understandably, fans were furious with the Boys' "double standards", including the show's own host Laura Whitmore. "Anyone else feel the boys have double standards?!!" she asked.

Another viewer added: "It was alright for Callum to say Sydney is fit, but not ok for Lottie to say Joel is her type?" Erm, apparently so.
