Yerger and Keech often feature one another on their respective social media feeds. In February, Yerger shared a video of the two embracing in what appeared to be a cabin, captioning the footage by referring to his then-girlfriend as "my 4 time valentine."
Earlier this month, the two celebrated Keech's birthday, with Yerger sharing a selection of Instagram images along with a heartfelt caption: "happiest of birthdays to my best friend @daisykeech you are the most caring, gracefully gentle, truly kind, fiercely loyal, and purest human out there and i’m so grateful to experience life with you. here’s to another year of not taking life so seriously, making memories & enjoying nature. love you forever & ever."

Yerger was among the 20 castaways to compete in the long-running CBS reality competition series Survivor's 36th season in 2018, where he competed in Fiji for the grand prize of $1 million. Yerger was just 18 when he appeared on the show.
In an earlier Q&A about the show on CBS.com, Yerger said he wanted to compete on Survivor because "I'm a people person. I've always preferred to spend my time around others over being alone. I feel as though I can relate to those of all ages from all walks of life in some way in order to form common ground."
The next season of Survivor debuts on CBS Sept. 18.
