Susanna Reid has slammed critics telling her to quit her job on Good Morning Britain, declaring that she is “staying right where I am”.

The Good Morning Britain presenter told how her skin “just gets thicker by the second” as she responded to critics in a Twitter rant following co-host Piers Morgan’s interview with Donald Trump.

The 47-year-old hit out at trolls urging her to leaving her job hosting the breakfast show declaring that she had no intention of doing so.

She wrote on Twitter: "Getting hit from left and right. Criticised for being too opinionated ... and too quiet.

"Accused of being a snowflake and a c-. Too liberal ... too enabling, 'good-looking, but...' My skin just gets thicker by the second. And we do it all again tomorrow @gmb 6am."

She added: "Half my critics think I should leave MY paid employment because THEY take issue with the person sitting next to me.

“I'm staying right where I am.”

The rant comes after Morgan interviewed Trump on topical issues including the “very complex problem” of Brexit.

On Monday morning’s show the 53-year-old declared intention to donate a box of Trump’s sweets to a child living with terminal cancer.

After he interviewed the president onboard his world famous plane Air Force One for Good Morning Britain, the presenter picked up a personalised packet of M&Ms.

Morgan gave up the keepsake to 10-year-old Jess Shepherd who is “collecting memories” after being diagnosed with terminal Neuroblastoma.

Speaking on Monday morning’s show he said: “Just had a tweet here – I’d like to send some of those M&Ms to a girl called Jess.

“She’s had cancer, she’s ten years old and there’s no further treatment available for her. So making memories now is all we have left.”
