Susanna Reid rejected a role in the Love Actually Comic Relief sequel as it featured a dig at Piers Morgan.

The Good Morning Britain host has revealed that she was offered a cameo in Richard Curtis’ 10-minute film but was forced to turn it down.

Speaking to The Mirror, Reid said that she decided against the role when she found out that it involved a joke about her co-host ‘still being alive’.

In the short clip, Hugh Grant’s Prime Minister says: “Times have got harder and people are nervous and fearful. And it's not just in politics that things are tough, Usain Bolt has run his last Olympics, the Harry Potter films are finished, Piers Morgan is still alive.”

Talking about their love/hate relationship, Reid said: “I enjoy how viewers react to my relationship with Piers on the sofa. It’s evolving – like any good TV ‘marriage.’

“He winds me up no end, but I also like him. It’s an impossible-to-predict recipe of mutual respect, irritation, frustration & admiration but it works.”

Reid recently spoke out about receiving a deluge of messages from admirers, admitting that she was staying single out of choice.

“I just am not [looking to date anyone]... I just can't have a relationship at the moment,” the mother-of-three told The Telegraph. “My most important thing is being a mum.

She added: “I don't think there would be time for anything else because relationships take up a lot of emotional energy, don't they?”

Reid split from partner Dominic Cotton three years ago, but the pair still live together in the same house, alongside Cotton’s new girlfriend.
