Susannah Constantine’s daughter addresses ‘problem’ with drink after mum’s alcohol battle
Susannah Constantine’s daughter has addressed her issues with alcohol following her mother's own personal battle with drinking.
Esme Bertelsen, 23, the daughter of Susannah and Sten Bertelsen, delved into the topic during a recent episode of the ADHD Chatter Podcast on YouTube, reports the Mail.
In the episode, Esme, who works as an artist management specialist, revealed that she'll "drink so fast" and "carry on drinking" because she won't "have to think about having control of what I'm doing next".

Her mother, Susannah, who has battled alcoholism, admitted on ITV's Lorraine in 2022 that the substance had a "control" over her. Esme, meanwhile, has shared insights into her own drinking habits.
Esme said: "I like more binge drink because...I won't drink in the week, really, because I know how it will affect me, but then when I go out drinking, I just...I always want to be like, you know, always up."
She continued: "If I have one drink, and I'll drink so fast and I'll carry on drinking because then I won't have to think about having control of what I'm doing next because if I'm having one pint, I'll be like, 'What, guys; what are we doing next?' I have to know what I'm doing next."
She went to say: "If then they go, 'No, we're going to go home', then I'll know that I'll have to face... I'll be sober enough that I'll have to face the actual reality of like getting into bed and then thinking about things and my mind racing the whole time.
"If I'm so p*****, I can go to bed and I'm...asleep and my mind doesn't wander at night. It's just...yeah, it's just like, 'pff', and I don't have to think about anything. So maybe I do have a problem."
Susannah, who shot to fame as part of the double act Trinny and Susannah, previously told Lorraine Kelly that she had once been in Cornwall when an unfortunate accident occurred.
The fashion journalist had been drinking and tripped over, breaking two "traverse processes" in her back. The following day, Susannah bravely gathered people around a table and explained that she had a problem, reports the Express.
In 2020, she revealed that she'd been in recovery for seven years. She wrote in the Daily Mail at the time: "After years of waking up filled with shame and guilt and asking God for the four horsemen to take me away and not bring me back, I knew it was time. Drinking had ceased to be fun. I had ceased to be fun. I was no longer in control, it was controlling me."
