Suspect charged after police found drugs and knives in Greenwich

Greenwich Police have arrested and charged a man after seizing two knives and large amounts of cannabis from his address.

The man was initially arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B drugs and was taken into custody.

Officers then found several messages on his phone relating to drug dealing and videos showing off large amounts of cannabis.

The police visited the suspect’s last address and found around 11 more bags of cannabis, as well as thousands of empty cannabis bags in boxes in his name.

Officers also found two knives and the man was then charged with possession with intent to supply class B drugs and two counts of an offensive weapon in a private premises.

A spokesperson for Greenwich Police said: “Suspect was arrested for possession with intent to supply Class B and was taken to custody.

“Officers triaged his iPhone that was also found in the suspect’s possession and officers recovered multiple messages relating to drug dealing and also videos of the suspect showing off large amounts of cannabis to his contacts.

“Officers conducted intel checks on what his last address was for a section 18(5) to be done, officers then had a section 18(5) authorised and all officers went to which no one answered.

“The keys in the suspects possession were taken and they fitted the door and unlocked the front door.

“Officers located his bedroom to which they discovered approximately another 11 bags of cannabis.

“Thousands of empty cannabis bags in boxes in his name, a zombie style Rambo knife, a flick knife, smell proof bags, multiple blackberry phones and a GPS tracker.

“Officers took the case to CPS who authorised a charge and remand for possession with intent to supply class B, offensive weapon X2 in private premises.”
