Suspect named after 'police officer assaulted'

A suspect has been named after a man allegedly assaulted a police officer. Adam Harvey, 37, of no fixed address has been charged with violent disorder; burglary and assault of an emergency worker in relation to incidents in Liverpool city centre on August 3.

He is alleged to have thrown a missile at the head of an officer, causing injury; letting off fire extinguishers at members of the public; and stealing items from a shop on Church Street. Harvey has been remanded to appear at Liverpool Magistrates' Court today on Thursday, November 21.

A total of 151 arrests have now been made, with 106 charged and 81 people sentenced to 168 years and one month. Anyone with information to assist police's ongoing investigation is asked to contact them via Public Portal (mipp.police.uk) or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
