Suspected Arsonist Turns Himself in After 100,000 Chickens Killed in Dutch Fire

After officials appealed for information on a fire at a poultry farm near Groningen, Netherlands, that killed about 100,000 chickens, a suspect turned himself in on Thursday, July 18, according to Dutch police.

The fire, which took place on July 7, was suspected to be an act of arson, with CCTV footage showing a suspect approaching a barn and appearing to set a vehicle on fire.

The fire led to the destruction of two barns at the farm, but firefighters prevented it from spreading further.
