Two men have appeared in court charged with multiple break-ins across Kent - including in Dartford.

Benjamin Legg and Jack Piccolo were arrested on May 26 on suspicion of targeting properties throughout Kent and Essex.

Legg, of Academy Drive Road in Basildon and Piccolo, of Station Parade in Barking, were later charged with seven and 10 burglaries respectively.

Both were also charged with one count of theft of bank cards.

Break-ins Homes in Rochester, Dartford, Aylesford, Maidstone, Basildon, Billericay, South Ockenden and Rochford, were allegedly targeted between May 15 and 24.

Items reported to be stolen included vehicles from driveways, power tools and wallets.

Mr Legg, 27, and Mr Piccolo, 25, appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, May 28.

They were remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on a date to be confirmed.

A spokesperson for Kent Police said: "A pair of suspected burglars have appeared in court charged with multiple break-ins across west and north Kent.

"Following an investigation by the Chief Constable’s Crime Squad, Benjamin Legg and Jack Piccolo were arrested on 26 May 2022, on suspicion of targeting properties throughout Kent and Essex.

"Legg, of Academy Drive Road, Basildon, Essex and Piccolo, of Station Parade, Barking, Greater London were later charged with seven and 10 burglaries respectively.

"Both were also charged with one count of theft of bank cards.

"Break-ins Homes in Rochester, Dartford, Aylesford, Maidstone, Basildon, Billericay, South Ockenden and Rochford, were allegedly targeted between 15 and 24 May.

"Items reported to be stolen included vehicles from driveways, power tools and wallets.

"Mr Legg, aged 27, and Mr Piccolo, aged 25, appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 28 May.

"They were remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on a date to be confirmed."
