Suspected Space Debris Streaks Across Oregon Night Sky

Sightings of a bright objects gliding through the night sky in Oregon prompted locals to report the occurrence to Salem Police on March 25.

The National Weather Service in Seattle said it was waiting to confirm what the object was on Thursday night, but that the “unofficial information” pointed towards debris from a Falcon 9 rocket’s second stage that did not successfully “have a de-orbit burn.”

In video posted to Twitter by the Salem Police Department, the suspected debris can be seen travelling through the dark night sky.
