  • Previous reports stating that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have fired their Frogmore Cottage staff are false, a Sussex aide tells BAZAAR.

  • Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently announced their decision to split time between the U.K. and Canada as they step down from being active, senior members of the royal family.

Though Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have announced their plans to retain residencies between the U.K. and Canada going forward, rumors of staff being fired from the couple’s residence at Frogmore Cottage are false.

According to a Sussex aide, The Daily Mail’s reports of staff at Harry and Meghan’s U.K. estate having been fired are exaggerated and untrue.

“No members of staff have been let go,” the aide tells BAZAAR.com. “In quiet periods staff are often redeployed elsewhere around the estate.”

While Harry has remained in London following the queen’s order for a royal family summit discussing the Sussexes decision to step down as senior royal family members, Meghan returned to Canada to be with the couple’s young son Archie.

Even while laying low in Canada, Duchess Meghan has still made time for community-focused efforts while settling into her new home base. The duchess visited multiple women’s charities close to her and Harry’s temporary Vancouver Island home this past week, including Justice For Girls—an organization that’s dedicated the past 21 years to promoting rights and equality for young girls.

“We were struck by how engaged and informed she was on the issues we discussed, and how quickly and gracefully she put us at ease,” co-director of Justice For Girls Zoe Craig-Sparrow told BAZAAR.com. The organization also expressed their confidence in Meghan as she begins promoting her charity efforts across Canada.

"[Meghan] will bring her commitment and intelligence to the issues she cares about,” continued Craig-Sparrow. “Especially the rights of women and girls, and will use her position to help.”
