Swan crash lands into building site and gets wedged behind a brick wall
A swan escaped starving to death after a bad landing saw it get wedged behind a brick wall.
The male bird found himself trapped between the foundations of a house on a construction site in Dovedale Road, Birmingham, last week.
Unable to move, the swan faced certain death – but was luckily found by a group of builders.

The team contacted the RSPCA and everyone got stuck in rescuing the bird by carefully removing the bricks surrounding it.
Thankfully they finally freed the swan, who was treated at the Birmingham Animal Hospital for a cut to its wing and a bleeding leg.
RSPCA officer Cara Gibbon said: “With the help of the builders, we had to remove each brick block by block as there was no other way to get him out.
“He was completely wedged in there.
“He seemed to be doing a little better after having a little bit of rest and food.
“I can never be sure what rescues I will get called to on a day to day basis and this goes to show how many different situations animals are rescued from.
“We are really grateful to the builders for contacting us, as he could have sadly starved to death if he’d never been seen.”
