Swap a cucumber for a free gin n' tonic at Young's pubs today

It's only Monday but goodness knows we already need a fresh, crisp G&T to get us through the week.

Luckily today, March 20, Young's Pubs are giving away free glasses of Mother's Ruin to anyone who turns up with a cucumber.

More than 100 Young's and Geronimo pubs across the capital, including the lovely little Duke of Wellington in Wandsworth and Islington's Narrowboat, will all be accepting the smooth and slender veggie as currency.

Why are they doing it? Well it's obviously a clever little marketing stunt, but they say it's because Hendrick's Gin (the guys and gals serving up the free booze) "really recognises the value of the humble cucumber".

The great news is that we do, too. Your average G&T in central London will set you back about £5, whereas a Tesco cucumber is more like 50p. Bargain, really.
