Swarm of Flying Bugs Invades Plane Before Takeoff

A swarm of flying insects invaded the cabin of a Volaris flight from Morelia, Mexico, to Los Angelels, California, on September 8, leaving passengers baffled and aghast.

Footage from one passenger, Jose Javier Suarez, shows thousands of the bugs swarming on a ceiling as travelers came aboard, and at least one member of airline staff taking images of the insects on her phone.

Suarez told Storyful that despite “an exorbitant amount of mosquitoes” inside the aircraft, the doors were closed and the flight took off on schedule. Storyful has not independently verified if the insects were mosquitoes.
