SWAT Team Member Dressed as Batman Rappels Down Side of Children's Hospital as Halloween Surprise

A police officer in Toledo, Ohio, made a surprise visit to patients in a children’s hospital on October 30, rappelling down the side of the building to wave at them through a window while dressed as Batman.

The Toledo Police Department said members of its SWAT Unit “took to the skies” to help make a rainy day sunny for the children at the Toledo Children’s Hospital.

“For the sixth year in a row, members of the SWAT Team rappelled from the roof of the hospital to surprise the children dressed as their favorite superheroes,” it said. “Afterwards, they came into the hospital to meet and take pictures with the children.”

In a video shared by the Toledo Police Department, a costumed officer in a harness drops down along the side of the hospital. The young patients shriek and press their faces against the glass as a voice off-camera can be heard saying, “Oh, it’s Batman!” The kids then wave at the officer and shout, “Hi, Batman.” Credit: Toledo Police Department via Storyful
