A Swedish lifestyle baby and childrenswear brand has opened up its first shop in Surrey. Newbie opened seventh store in the UK in Guildford on November 21 offering goody bags to its first 100 customers.

The branch in The Friary caters for newborns all the way to eight-year-olds. Newbie clothing is designed to be timeless and passed down through generations, from siblings, to cousins, with all collections made from high-quality materials like organic cotton and RWS-certified wool.

All clothing designs feature hand-drawn patterns and a soft colour palette inspired by nature. And they have an adorable Christmas collection which you can admire and buy in the Guildford store, some outfits also feature matching women's clothing.

The store will be based on level one of the shopping centre. The opening of Newbie's Guildford branch is the third this autumn alongside branches in Brent Cross and Canary Wharf. The chain also has a store in Richmond. According to Newbie bosses these openings mark a 'significant milestone' in Newbie’s ongoing expansion and 'solidifies their growing presence in the British market'.

The Swedish brand does not just sell infant and women's clothing, it also offers a wide range of room décor. From a beautiful range of full room design collections, to wallpapers, teddies and bedsheets and blankets.

Newbie has a key focus on creating sustainable clothing and reducing wasted materials. This is done in many ways, one being through Newbie's 'rescued fabrics' collection which is consists of garments made from fabric remnants that are left over from earlier Newbie collections.

Another initiative which Newbie has created to support this philosophy is it 'Preloved' scheme, where customers can trade in their outgrown Newbie children's wear in Newbie stores. In exchange customers will receive a store credit for a percentage reduction on their next purchase.
