This wasn't the only engagement that came to be over the weekend at Murrayfield, with Taylor herself congratulating another couple on Friday. One girl popped the question to her partner during the performance of Cardigan.

Thanks to lighter summer nights in Scotland the Love Story singer was able to see into the crowds. On June 7, she asked the crowd: "I’m pretty sure I just saw someone who got engaged. Did it happen? Yeah?

“Congratulations. Wow. Man that’s amazing. Thank you for doing that at my concert. That’s a big moment. Huge.

“I never get to see that, right? ‘Cause it’s dark, usually, at night. But it’s not right now, so congratulations! Wow.”

The global superstar told crowds she "wondered what it was going to be like" returning to Scotland, having not performed in almost a decade.

She said: "We’ve checked this 20 times and this is the most highly attended stadium show in Scottish history.”

She added: “Thank you Edinburgh for welcoming a lass to your city.”
