Swimming Pool Forced To Remind Men Not To Blow Dry Their Privates

Men, look. This is why you can’t have nice things: A swimming pool in Iceland has been forced to put up posters making it clear that using communal hairdryers on your crotch is not allowed.

Icelandic journalist Haraldur Jónasson was so disgusted with his fellow swimmers’ misuse of the equipment that he penned an op ed for local newspaper Frettatiminn.

“This is not a scrotum dryer”, the headline reads alongside a picture of a naked man pointing a hairdryer at his bits and pieces with one leg propped up on a counter (also unacceptable).

Swimming pool staff put posters of the article up to remind customers of the rules.

“Don‘t dry your ball sack or your butt with the communal hairdryer in the swimming pool or the gym.

“Bald older gentlemen with hairy torsos must either bring their own blow-dryers or just buy a more absorbent towel.”

First posted around a pool in Sundhöllin, Iceland, the posters caused a sensation on Icelandic social media last year, while the phrase “ball sack dryer” has entered regular use.

What a legacy.
