Avengers: Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo have got a very different project lined up after the Marvel team-up epic.

Deadline reports that the duo have made a deal with Swiss Army Man – you know, the one with the farting Daniel Radcliffe corpse – writer/directors Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan for their next movie.

The Daniels will write, direct and produce what's said to be a science fiction movie every bit as original as Swiss Army Man, so we're expecting it to be pretty far out.

Through their as-yet-untitled production company set up last year, the Russos will produce with Scheinert, Kwan and Jonathan Wang, with Mosaic's Josh Rudnick as executive producer alongside the Russos' partner Mike Larocca.

Swiss Army Man won the US Dramatic directing award at Sundance last year, despite prompting audience walk-outs.

Radcliffe described the movie as the one he is "most proud of", and spoke to us about it being the "most fun shoot" he's ever been involved with, as well as what attracted him to it in the first place.

"When you read the same kind of stuff and then you read something that's that original, you just think, 'That's f**king amazing'," he enthused.

Before the Russos tackle the Daniels' weird sci-fi, they have the fairly big task of Avengers: Infinity War, which is currently shooting.

It was suggested that the movie could mark Chris Evans's final outing as Captain America, but that's simply not the case. "If we engage further, I'd be open to it. I love the character," he explained.

Avengers: Infinity War is released in UK cinemas on April 27, 2018 and in US cinemas on May 4, 2018.
