Swollen River Sweeps Debris Against Bridge in Flood-Hit Italian Town

At least six people were dead and three missing after heavy rain brought intense flooding to central Italy, according to local media reports citing authorities.

This footage, filmed by Stefano Bartolucci, shows debris on the Misa River running through the town of Senigallia in Italy’s Marche region late on Thursday, September 15.

The Misa River reached a peak early on Friday morning, and began slowly receding, the Municipality of Senigallia said.

An orange alert issued on Thursday remained in place for parts of central and southern Italy on Friday, including the Campania and Lazio regions, as rain and strong winds were expected to continue through to the afternoon. Credit: Stefano Bartolucci/MeteoSenigallia.it via Storyful
