Syrian Family Rescued After Crossing American Border

Three adults and a child from Syria crossed the US border to seek asylum in Canada on Saturday, February 11, according to reports. The Canadian police rescued the Syrians, who were crossing by foot in temperatures reaching 5 degrees F (-15 Celsius). A couple, their-3 year-old child and a man were taken to a detention center, where their situation was to be evaluated. In total, 21 refugees crossed the border from the United States to the Canadian region of Manitoba on Saturday morning, according to reports. At least 22 refugees crossed the Canadian border illegally over the past weekend. The number of refugees crossing the Canadian border spiked since the president Donald Trump put a ban on the American refugee program, according to reports.
