Cara and Amber’s relationship is said to be heating up.
It has been reported that Angelina Jolie has found comfort in her friend, Johnny Depp, following her split from husband, Brad Pitt. Amber filed for divorce from 53-year-old Johnny back in May and claimed he’d been abusive toward her throughout their 15-month marriage. Johnny is one of the nicest people that I know - to the extent where it’s almost heartbreaking how kind he is to his friends, and everyone around him. Johnny and Amber settled out of court last month and The Danish Girl actress was awarded $7 million from the actor, all of which she donated to charity.
Amber Heard has criticised Jonny Depp for giving her divorce settlement money directly to charity arguing that he should have paid double considering the charitable tax deductions. The actor was supposedly going to give his $7 million (£5.3m) in one lump sum to Amber, however, has since announced he is paying in direct instalments to the charity, avoiding paying extra in tax. Amber’s team now say that in light of the tax deductions Jonny should be paying more and also should make his payment in full.
Earlier this month it was reported that Amber Heard had opted to give her $7million divorce settlement from actor Johnny Depp to charity. Upon being awarded the huge sum of money after settling their divorce in private, Amber announced that she was going to split the millions between the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles and a charity for victims of domestic abuse.
Amber Heard has revealed the two charities she will be giving her $7 million Johnny Depp court settlement to. The charities of her choice are American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), which aims to stop violence against women, and the other is Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles where she worked as a volunteer for the past 10 years. The statement said: “As described in the restraining order and divorce settlement, money played no role for me personally and never has, except to the extent that I could donate it to charity and, in doing so, hopefully help those less able to defend themselves.
Both Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are likely breathing a sigh of relief that their private lives will not continue to be dragged through the courts and newspapers thanks to settling on a sum for their divorce. While something of a sting, the $7 million (just over £5 million) he will hand over to Ms Heard shouldn’t dent the war chest he’s likely amassed over 30 years in the movie business. But compared to some, he’s got away incredibly lightly…Image credits: Rex Features
Johnny Depp’s legal team grilled the 30-year-old actress for seven hours in Los Angeles on Saturday. TMZ have obtained legal documents that show Amber’s team claim that Johnny is deliberately attempting to prevent the divorce from going ahead, even warning 30-year-old Amber that she will be faced with a $100,000 fine for every time any of his financial information is leaked.
Johnny Depp has filed a petition to keep details of his divorce proceedings from Amber Heard confidential in order to protect the former couple’s privacy.
