Author and former children's laureate Chris Riddell has accused John Lewis of stealing his idea for their Moz the Monster Christmas advert from his picture book Mr Underbed.
The John Lewis Christmas advert has become nearly as hotly-anticipated as the big day itself – and the 2017 version has finally dropped. Despite the company’s huge £7 million spend to bring this year’s main character, Moz the Monster, to life, not everyone is overawed by the two-minute clip. The advert sees a little lad, Joe, make friends with Moz, who is sleeping under the youngster’s bed when he snores a bit too loudly one day, waking him up.
On Jan. 11, Rep. John Lewis testified against Sen. Jeff Sessions, President-elect Donald Trump’s selection for attorney general, before the Senate Judiciary Committee. During the hearing, Lewis said, “It doesn’t matter how Sen. Sessions may smile, how friendly he may be, how he may speak to you. But we need someone who's going to stand up, speak up, and speak out for the people that need help.”
