The new series of Celebrity Big Brother is barely a few weeks away – but it seems that the show’s bosses have only just managed to resolve the fallout from the last instalment. Endemol have been thrashing out a deal with panto legend Christopher Biggins, who was less than impressed with their attempts to withhold his entire £100k fee after he was booted out of the house for making an anti-Jewish slur. The 67-year-old star was hoiked out of the house after telling X Factor singer Katie Waissel: “You better be careful or they’ll be putting you in a shower and taking you to a room.” The comment was widely construed as being a reference to the mass murder of Jews in Nazi concentration camps.
This year’s series of Celebrity Big Brother was no stranger to controversy, with much-loved actor Christopher Biggins being removed from the house for making offensive comments. Although the scenes never aired on Channel 5, viewers were shocked to learn that Biggins had made horrifying anti-Semitic comments towards Jewish housemate Katie Waissel, leaving Big Brother with no choice but to remove him from the show. Now Katie has opened up about the Holocaust “joke” that reduced her to tears, admitting that she had to see a psychologist whilst living in the famous compound.
The final round of nominations took place on Monday night’s (Aug 22) episode of Celebrity Big Brother, with six housemates facing the chop in Tuesday night’s (Aug 23) double eviction. Big Brother called each housemate to the Diary Room to deliver their nominations – but as Renee, Marnie, Aubrey and Frankie won the recent task, they were allowed to nominate twice while other housemates nominated once. Marnie Simpson, Frankie Grande and Samantha Fox received three nominations each, Katie Waissel received two nominations, and Ricky Norwood received one nomination, consequently they all now join eternally nominated Stephen Bear for eviction this week.
As for the other housemates, James Whale – who received more votes to save than Bear during Friday’s (Aug 12) eviction – is now on 8/1, with Renee Graziano at 10/1. Four housemates face eviction this week – Lewis, Heavy D, Renee and eternally nominated Bear – but who do you think will be sitting down for an interview with Emma Willis later this evening?
Katie Waissel’s grandmother is still working as an escort aged 87. The Celebrity Big Brother star’s elderly relative was revealed to be working in the sex industry when Katie appeared on X Factor back in 2010. Currently, Sheila Vogel-Coupe is still registered on a site promoting her adult work which earns her £250 an hour with her last review being left in February.
If this turns out to be correct, then former X Factor contestant Katie Waissel might become one of the housemates over on the ‘celebrity’ side, as Channel 5 bosses are reportedly convinced that she would help to boost ratings. Katie first found fame back in 2010, when she appeared on The X Factor and became one of the most talked-about contestants in the history of the show. With Katie being known for her troubles both on-screen and off-screen, the source added: “She is bound to divide opinion just like she did on The X Factor.
Katie Waissel still has an arena full of bad blood with her former X Factor mentor Cheryl Fernandez-Versini judging by her latest rant, in which she brands Chezza a ‘horrible human being’. The two allegedly fell out after Chez admitted in her autobiography, ‘Cheryl: My Story’, that she wasn’t sure about Katie when she first auditioned in 2010. Then, in July, Katie called Cheryl a ‘prick’, telling Star magazine: “I think she’s just there for the money.
It’s long been known that Katie Waissel isn’t *exactly* the biggest fan of her old X Factor mentor Cheryl Fernandez-Versini. Now, it seems she has such a bad opinion of the singer, she even warned Rita Ora to be wary of her before this year’s X Factor auditions begun.
